Me vs. the Bobcat (part 7 of ?)

Today, as you may know, is a Tuesday. Yesterday was a Snow Day. There was a slight chance for a delay today, as the roads may have been icy. However, it does not seem clear that the call to delay was properly made.
At 6:00 today, I woke up as usual, and went through my usual routine. By 6:47 (I’m running two minutes late!) I was out the door and on my way to the bus stop, hoodie, jacket, gloves, and all. Also at the bus stop: everyone else on my street who rides the bus.
We’re all wondering what’s taking the bus so long. 10 minutes later, it’s light outside, and we’re really wondering what’s going on. Sean asks, “Are you sure there wasn’t a delay today?” Viti (sp?) says that she watched the news before coming out, and there was no delay for South Windsor. We stand there wondering wtf is going on. I’m planning to get a ride from Jackie if she comes out before the bus does. However, when it’s 7:02, Chris and I decide to go back and get a ride with our dad, who hasn’t left for work yet. We are halfway home when a bus goes by the end of our street. It doesn’t pull in though. I’m trying to figure out why the one time the bus is really late had to be “Feels Like -2°F” weather.
We get in and complain that the bus didn’t come. My mom turns on the TV and sure enough, after about 18 regional schools, is “South Windsor Public Schools: 90 Minute Delay.” Was this carelessness on my part? Should I have watched the news because the roads were icy? (I drove on them to go tell everyone else; they’re not that bad). Is it possible I made a horrible mistake?

Update: Dr Wood’s secretary writes letter explaining problem.
It was the bus company, and then after the bus company blew it the school double blew it. Two people dropped the ball today.
probably bus failures.

yea…greg, i dont see colby complaining and he was out at the bus stop early too…really, i dont agree with this, its not the school’s fault…stuff like this happens, i saw it posted on the news before i got to the bus stop…why is everyone so angry

THis is Ryan, u are a fool for going to the bus stop, u said u went out at 647 and the announcement was up at 641. I too was up and ready to go, but using common sense checked the comp to see if there was a delay, in hope, and there was. You and Chris are always on computer and im suprised you werent on then to check for a delay.

Actually, I can sympathize with people who are pissed off because they went to the bus stop. The school can’t expect people to check the announcements that late. In fact, I didn’t even check them at all.
That being said, for all of you who are pissed off because you had to get out of bed and couldn’t get back to sleep, shut the fuck up. I’d rather be awake at home than awake at school. Better late than never.
