I’m still in Hawaii in case you were wondering. I’ve gone from Maui to Honolulu, which was a twenty minute plane ride. It’s a bit different here. The beaches are worse, for one. but also it’s a lot different because this is more like a city than Maui was. Also, there’s a ton of Japense tourists here. Everything is available in English or Japanese, and all the restaurants have both menus posted outside. It’s quite interesting to not have any idea what half the people around you are saying. On the same note, I can exchange dollars for Euros here, and I am slightly disappointed to see that the Euro has slipped to $1.22 per Euro. The Internet is much harder to come by here as well, the wireless is actually quite a walk from the hotel room, which features only a phone line for dialup.
Today was my birthday, and Becca and Katy both called to wish me a happy birthday. Kim posted a big thing in her blog too. We went out for lunch and my parents told them it was my birthday so they all sung to me and it was kind of amusing. I’ll post photos from that when I get a change to download them off my phone. Thanks for all the happy birthdaying; being seventeen sure feels a lot like being sixteen, though. Too bad I wasn’t in CT to get a $4.20 pizza at Campion’s.
Flight leaves 4:30 tomorrow, so I’m back in CT around 6:00 EDT Friday..
Also the birthday of Hitler…although I was born on Stalin’s birthday…..
