Free Shirt Week is off an an extraordinarily successful start. Already, the number of people wearing free shirts is several orders of magnitude higher than if only I had worn a free shirt. And the numbers are only bound to get larger, as I hear tomorrow some people will be sporting shirts that are not only free, but actually themselves promote free shirt week. Avast mateys, we be smooth sailin’!

That last bit was because today is Talk Like a Pirate, in addition to the start of Free Shirt Week. I felt particularly compelled to talk like a pirate after blowing the non-calculator section of the Calc test I didn’t know I had until I walked into the room. 30 seconds in my notes would have brought my grade on the section up like 100%. Avast, I will not be caught with my buckles unswashed again!

I went to an MIT info session tonite. It was about as interesting as all of the other info sessions I’ve been to, because basically they outline information I could have (but specifically have chosen not to, just so I am less bored) obtain elsewhere. What really annoys me is when they show something wicked, ridiculously awesome, and then people laugh at it. In this case, they showed a motorized couch, full-video dance floor, and networked washing machines. People laughed when they showed them like “Who would ever do something like that?” I’d read about all these projects before online, and they are farking cool. I would gladly have conspired on any of them, particularly the dance floor. I wish I had gotten to do some of these. This is why I am building a pit security cam for our team this year. Also, some girl asked about FIRST because one of the videos they showed us had Woodie Flowers in it, but I couldn’t find out where she was from because she left too quickly. Oh well.
