So here is my proposal. A website should exist where people can input the dimensions of various items that come in boxes. For instance, I can not find anywhere online the dimensions of the packaging that the Xbox 360 comes in. I find it unbelievable that no one would bother to post the size of the hottest holiday gift.
Once the site has a nice database of items, users can query the database with dimensions, like say those of the box wrapped up underneath the Christmas tree. We could even add weight as another field to help distinguish between similarly sized items. So let’s say there’s a box that’s about a foot cubed and weighs two pounds. I put that data in the site, and it narrows it down to a bike helmet, a stapler, and a TV. Well, maybe not exactly those items, but you get the idea.
What the heck is in those boxes under the tree?!
I was in the mall today. I passed a store with an Xbox in the window, and I almost stopped to measure the box for you. Then I realized that I didn’t have a ruler. Sorry.
