Disoriented Dreaming

Apr 18 06 | 10:12 pm

I took a short nap after playing Bridge at Colby’s today (I am not that great at Bridge), and then during dinner I had no appetite, and after dinner I decided to lie down for a bit again.

My dad woke me up, telling me to make sure I wasn’t late for my interview at the company I’m interning at. I looked at the clock, 9:00, and decided I could stay in bed a bit longer since it wasn’t until 12:30. Then my mom comes in and asks if I’m feeling OK, since I took a three hour nap after dinner. I look at the clock again, realize I’m still in real clothes, and go, “Oh, pm.” and now I have messed up my sleep schedule.

However, this mid-evening nap has yielded a most interesting dream:

I was at my new job setting up my new office. The computer they gave me was Windows 95 and had like three keyboards nearby. One of them was plugged into an electrical outlet because it had a built in power strip - on the keyboard. One of the other people in the office complimented me on my wiring job, because everything was totally tangled before I got there.

After that I went out to Colby’s birthday party minigolfing at some sort of strip mall in Manchester. When we finished, everyone from the party left quickly, and I noticed Becky and a bunch of other people standing in the parking lot. I went over to Becky and said hi because we haven’t seen each other in a while. She grabbed me and started running through a nearby parking lot. She grabbed some sort of mask that was hanging on the wall of the parking garage, and then there was some guy yelling over the PA system about a bunch of deliquient kids running around.

We meet back up with the rest of her group, which then all proceed to storm the parking lot and run around and scatter and the police are trying to grab people. Of course, I have no idea what the heck is going on, try to walk around casually like I’m not involved, and get cuffed. The guy takes me up to the top of some tall tower in the corner of the parking lot. They ask me what I was doing and I explain that I am really just a victim of circumstance here. He asks how old I am, and I am cognizant enough to realize that I am still 17 for two more days, so I say 17. He says that even though I’m not 18, I still have to go downstairs and file a report. I go downstairs, but all of the police have disappeared. I’m now left alone in the parking lot late at night in the middle of Manchester. I take off the handcuffs because he put them on really loose.

So now I was lost in the middle of Manchester. Luckily, I pulled out my Gameboy and used the map in Pokémon to find my way home!

I hope you’ve enjoyed, because now I am going to have a really difficult time falling asleep tonight.
