I have good news! If you thought you were going to get through the school year without another Free Shirt Week, you couldn’t have been more wrong!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the third ever Free Shirt Week will be Thursday through Wednesday, bringing us right up the last day of classes before finals! For those of you who don’t know what Free Shirt Week is, and are too lazy to click the link up there or are on some sort of pigeon-based internet connection, here is a brief summary:

You know that pile of shirts you have from volunteer programs, summer camps, sports, and all the other crazy things you do that you have sitting in your bottom drawer that you only pull out when you need a new gym shirt? They feel lonely. They think you like your Hollister shirts more than them. Nobody likes to wear them because they aren’t as “hip” or “stylish” as the latest thing from American Eagle.

Well cast aside the mothballs and give those shirts a second chance! During the week of June 8th through June 14th, wear those shirts to school. They each tell a story that most people probably don’t know about you. Whether it’s that you give back to your community through volunteer service, went to a cool summer camp, or are a major geek, tell your stories proudly, and ask some other people about theirs.

Now while I can’t tell you what to wear for Free Shirt Week (actually, I probably could: I invented it), I can make suggestions. It’s always fun to have a mob of people all wearing the same shirt. Here are the official shirt suggestions for this week:

Free Shirt Week, Thurs, June 8 - Weds, June 14

Thursday: Wildcard! (this is my sympathy for giving you nine hours notice)
Friday: Future Problem Solvers (the tye-die woodstock one)
Monday: Relay for Life (that will have gotten two days earlier!)
Tuesday: 4H
Wednesday: Robotics

If you don’t have a shirt to fit one of those themes, don’t worry! Just get a few friends together and pick out something else you have. Or if you feel really adventurous, wear your own unique free shirt! What an exciting way to end the year!
