Story of My Life

So I finally get to the point where if I wanted, I could never go back to South Windsor High School again except for graduation and operation graduation. So what do I do today? I go in to school to work on the robot.
I added guides to the hopper so balls will flow into the shooter more easily. I spent forever trying to find the pop rivet gun, then made some test designs out of paper. These paper designs wound up being useless. In a stroke of creativity, I realized that I was thinking too 2D and that I could use the -edge- of the kevlar netting material the hopper is made out of to guide the ball. The resulting design is pretty darn simple (it had to be, I built it, remember?) and rather effective. I will probably have some photos after Battlecry this Saturday. I bothered my thumb and index finger pushing all the rivets in (I swear the 1/8″ drill bit is smaller than the 1/8″ rivets), but they are more uncomfortable than painful. When Chris, Sam, and I tested it, it only jammed once. Mr. Mo gave us an idea to fix it, which worked for a completely different reason than he thought. We are quite satisfied with the results. The robot is better than it’s been all season.
Now, let me transcribe for you the series of events that lead to my dinner. I didn’t eat at the normal time, because Chris and I were having a LAN party. So when I went to fix myself food at 8:00, it went like this:
Me: What is there to eat?
Dad: We had chicken, make a cesaer salad.
Me: Hey, this chicken is undercooked
Dad: Only that spot, cut it off.
Me: *cuts* *It’s the whole leftover chicken piece*
Dad: Well there’s turkey and a grinder roll, toast it and make a sandwich
Me: Yum! *gets out sandwich stuff*
Me: Hey, this grinder roll has mold on it!
Dad: Well don’t eat it then
Me: Good idea!
Me: *get regular bread* I think I will put some delicios Doritos in this sandwich!
Me: *discovers all the Doritos were eaten at the LAN party*
Me: Bah
And that is how my summer vacation has been so far! Tomorrow, I graduate!
