Watch Oprah Tomorrow

Two weeks ago, I met my roommate next year at Olin College, Evan, in Indianapolis in a huge coincidence. He is from San Diegoish, and attended a High School called High Tech High. One of the projects he made was a golf glove wired up with buttons so that, like striking chords on a piano, you can strike out characters for a computer. Add bluetooth and a cellphone, and you have a pretty sweet combination.

When we e-mailed each other to introduce ourselves, he e-mailed me a video clip from the Oprah show. Oprah, Bill and Melinda Gates come to his high school and interview a few people, including him. How cool is that? That’s almost as cool as the time Jeff got half of my head on CNN.

I had thought it already aired, but it turns out they’re showing the episode tomorrow. You should probably check it out, since the episode is about how the educational system in America isn’t that amazing. I agree with a lot of the points they make, but of course they cut all their video to make their point even stronger. Plus, talk shows like Oprah’s are interesting to watch just to see the format. They do so much to try to influence you, it’s really fascinating to see how it works.

So there’s at least three cool reasons to watch tomorrow.
