Where packing peanuts taste great with three kinds of dip!

Hartford by Night

Tonight, my dad and brother and I went into Hartford to take some night photos of the highway. We used a tripod and a 4th story window, and were able to achieve some pretty cool photos. They were taken on an Olympus E-500, which is a pretty sweet camera for being one of the less expensive DSLRs. Unfortunately, our attempts at an HDR composite (at least an automated one anyway, research continues) were foiled by the change in position of car-streaks between photos.

More photos will exist here, for a while at least.

  1. Where was this from? My dad has a great window in his office, but he works in Travelers Tower which doesn’t really help getting a skyline shot.

    HDR?

  2. These are taken from the Aetna building, which has a really nice shot of downtown and is right along the highway.

High Dynamic Range is a (digital) photographic technique to allow a greater range of exposure throughout the same image. It lets more of the image appear vividly instead of being washed out or underexposed.

  3. Sooo… Bracketed images layered together with their respective area(s) of proper exposure given more emphasis than those areas of the other images?
