I am really owned by work this week, but I would like to share with you a startling trend. Let us examine the (serious enough to mean missing classes) un-wellness count at Olin among the freshman class.
- Concussions: 2
- Emergency Appendectomies: 1
- Mono: 1
- Head Staples: 1
- Stomach Flu: 3
- Broken Feet: 1
- Fever: 1+
- Laryngitis: 1
- Fatigue: 1
note: not all items represent unique individuals
This represents almost 10% of the freshman class. Uh oh.
On my floor alone, five people got a stomach virus. Might not have been stomach flu but it was pretty brutal.

Likely of the genus norovirus. I don’t think that is what I had, since no one else got sick and it is fairly contagious.

Yuck. Everybody’s swamped… as Roenbeck says, “Work is owning my face”.
Man, if I get sick/injured/disabled in any way… well I guess I would just add to the statistics.
