Of MIT.

Perhaps back on the once-a-week schedule, I bring you a tale of great daring and heroism (pronounce it the British way).

The scene is Monday night. You have almost nothing due immediately (don’t even talk to me about next week, though) since classes are in their last week. You have to go to Olin Entrepreneurial Group elections from 9:30-10:00 (you later discover you won the position for which you ran, by the way). What do you do afterwards? Bunker down and work on your homework? No. Play hours of DDR and Guitar Hero? No. Drive to MIT with two friends for the sole purpose of going to their student center and playing pinball? Yes. Two days in a row?

Yes.

Conveniently, MIT’s Student Center is one of the few places on their campus I know how to get to. Less than conveniently, parking at MIT is difficult. It’s in the middle of Cambridge, and we were there late at night. Both nights we parked in the same place.

The first night Andy P came with us. We got a bunch of tokens (from the token machine next to the DDR machines - it gives a better deal on $5’s) and proceeded to play pinball. Their Sopranos machine had a note about a broken left flipper, the LOTR table was super tilted, and the NASCAR machine was sweet. Ellen won a free game on about 1/3 games she played, so we played a lot. Then the second night we broken the NASCAR machine’s left flipper (the third public pinball machine we’ve broken), left and found we had a parking ticket.

MIT Parking Ticket!

All in all, it was pretty awesome.
